Eurowind acquires Connected Wind Services Denmark

Eurowind Energy has signed an agreement to acquire Connected Wind Services Denmark from EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG, subject to approval by the relevant competition authorities. The purchase price is confidential.

Connected Wind Services Denmark is the largest independent service provider for wind turbines in Denmark, with more than 35 years of experience in operations and maintenance. The company services around 1,000 wind turbines across Denmark and employs more than 100 engineers, technicians and support staff.

The company provides maintenance, repairs and technical support to wind turbine owners, helping to ensure stable electricity production from existing wind farms. In addition to onshore wind services, Connected Wind Services Denmark has established activities within offshore wind and high voltage services. It also operates its own 24/7 monitoring centre, supervising more than 800 turbines and enabling rapid response when technical issues arise.

Connected Wind Services Denmark is certified under ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards, reflecting a structured approach to quality, environmental management and health and safety. Revenue has grown steadily in recent years, reaching approximately DKK 163 million in 2024.

For Eurowind Energy, the acquisition represents a strengthening of technical capabilities within the operational phase of wind projects. As more wind turbines in Denmark and Northern Europe move beyond their original service agreements, independent service providers play an important role in extending the lifetime of existing assets and maintaining high availability.

Jens Rasmussen, CEO of Eurowind Energy, says:

“This acquisition strengthens our position across the wind value chain. With Connected Wind Services Denmark, we gain strong technical expertise and a proven organisation that supports high availability and lifetime extension of wind assets. It is a natural step in expanding our operational capabilities in Denmark and Northern Europe.”

Kent Hougaard, CEO of Connected Wind Services Denmark, says:

“We see this as a strong match. Eurowind Energy understands the wind industry and the importance of reliable operations and maintenance. At the same time, it is important for us that Connected Wind Services Denmark continues as an independent company with the same management, employees and customer focus. This provides continuity for our customers and a solid foundation for our further development.”

Connected Wind Services Denmark continues to operate under its current name and as an independent company. The new Chairman of the Board of Connected Wind Services Denmark will be Klaus Steen Mortensen, a former long-standing senior executive at Vestas and current member of the Board of Directors at Eurowind Energy. The existing management team and organisation remain in place, and customers will continue to be served as before.
